Lahore/London, December 9

Pakistan’s ailing former PM Nawaz Sharif, who is currently undergoing treatment in London, has shown no improvement in his platelet count and the doctors have advised that he be shifted to the US for better medical care, a top PML-N official said.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the 69-year-old’s medical reports showed there was an 88 per cent blockage in the arteries circulating blood to his brain. "Transporting him to US is an immense challenge for the medical team,” she said. Sharif is also expected to undergo a biopsy in light of his latest positron emission tomography (PET) scan. — PTI
