22 arrested in PoK for pro-independence protest

ISLAMABAD: At least 22 activists were arrested in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir for “rioting” amid a pro-independence sit-in, a media report said. The arrests took place on Sunday in Hajira sub-division, Dawn news stated.

Elephant injures 18 at Sri Lanka Buddhist pageant

Colombo: An elephant taking part at a Buddhist pageant in Sri Lanka has run berserk, injuring at least 18 people. Video on Derana Television of Saturday night’s pageant in Kotte, near Colombo, showed an elephant suddenly running forward and people scattered, with some running into another elephant which became violent and ran, pushing and thus injuring onlookers.
