6 killed in coal mine accident in China

BEIJING: Six coal mine workers in China were killed when their mine was flooded. The accident took place at the Zhuxianzhuang coal mine in Yongqiao District under Suzhou City on Friday when 34 miners were working underground.

The accident took place at the Zhuxianzhuang coal mine in Yongqiao District under Suzhou City on Friday when 34 miners were working underground.

Twenty-seven miners managed to escape while seven others were trapped, state-run Xinhua news agency reported today.

Rescuers are continuing the search for another missing mine worker. — PTI
