Washington: A 71-year-old man will be awarded $21 million for his almost four decades of wrongful incarceration for two murders that took place in 1978. Authorities in Simi Valley city, California, announced they would settle a lawsuit giving Craig Coley, a Navy veteran, $21 million for his wrongful incarceration in the 1978 murders of Rhonda Wicht and her four-year-old son. NASA renames facility after Katherine Johnson

Washington: NASA has honoured Katherine Johnson, who defied racism at the US space agency and became a legendary mathematician, by renaming its Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) facility in West Virginia in her name. Johnson, who turned 100 last year, is an African-American woman who led a distinguished career at the agency. Her journey was showcased in the 2016 film “Hidden Figures”. IANS
