The School Final

Show comments

The Matriculation examination at present serves a double purpose. It is a passport to the University for those who intent to continue their studies, and to service for those who cannot or will not continue it. The School Final is intended to serve solely as a passport to government service. The first point that arises in this connection — is will a matriculate, who finds himself unable to go on with further studies be denied employment in Government service? We do not think this should be the case, and he should be considered on his merits. In the second place, assuming that the School Final and the Matriculation examinations are to lead to two distinct roads, apart from each other, why should the two examinations be tagged together?
