Railway Passengers'' Grievances.

Show comments

A DEPUTATION of Indians residing in Durban recently represented to the provincial railway official certain grievances of the passengers such as overcrowding, ill-treatment by ticket collectors, want of facilities for ladies, &c. In reply they were told that the railway administration would take special steps to remove most of the grievances. He said that Indians were a source of revenue to the railways and they were the administrations best customers. He was very sorry to hear about the bad opinion about ticket examiners. He said he would see that due courtesy was extended to Indians in future. Finally he invited any Indian to write to him about anything wrong in the railway and "if you have any grievance, come to me straight."
