SPEAKING at the annual gathering of students of Fergusson College, Poona, Sir George Lloyd asked how India was going to get on unless her best brains took to trade and industries. It was no good talking in phrases, said His Excellency, unless they were going to put them into practice and try to develop India as a great producing country. It was for them to create arts and industries that would give employment, work and wages to their own people. The message he had to give was:-“Do not forget the industrial development of your country.”
