The Government of Mysore have passed the following order on the Sanitary Commissioner's proposal that midwives attached to Local Fund Dispensaries may be trained in vaccination by posting them to the Vaccine Institute at Bangalore for two months; “The majority of the District and Municipal Boards consulted in the matter agree to the scheme proposed by the Sanitary Commissioner, according to which the cost of training each midwife will be about Rs. 55. The Government are pleased to accord sanction to the scheme with the observation that the midwives employed under such of the Local Board as do not undertake to bear the additional cost of training need not be disturbed.” The scheme is simple, cheap and efficient, and is also calculated to popularize vaccination effective where it is in force.
