AN informal meeting of about 50 ladies of Bengal was held at which they decided to send a letter to Sir William Wedderburn thanking him for his services in the cause of education of women and to call a public meeting to consider the various points suggested by the Government of India circular on female education.

AN informal meeting of about 50 ladies of Bengal was held at which they decided to send a letter to Sir William Wedderburn thanking him for his services in the cause of education of women and to call a public meeting to consider the various points suggested by the Government of India circular on female education. We are glad that the ladies have decided to press their views on the regarding education.  In the meantime the Bengal ladies have decided to help to supply the want of trained lady teachers in the proposed high schools and training colleges by selecting a suitable candidate for training at England and bearing the expenses of her passage.
