SOMETIME ago we had the pleasure to put in these columns the highly interesting and suggestive scheme of National Service which Principal S.C. Roy, M.A., (London) of the Dyal Singh College, Lahore, had formulated during a portion of the long vacation. Mr. Roy has, we are glad to see, reprinted his contribution in pamphlet form and it will doubtless prove of great use to all interested in National Service. Principal Roy has divided his suggestions under the main heads of educational service, literary service, rural and agricultural service, social and political service, philanthropic service and last but by no means least moral and religious service. The writer’s object is clear from the concluding paragraph in which he says that the scheme is by no means exhaustive and comprehensive, nor is it possible to work it out within a short period.
