THE servants of Indian Society, ever to a fore in ministrations of service, whether it be famine, or floods or fairs, will be evidence at the ensuing Kumbh fair at Haridwar. The noble work of extending help and relief to the huge mass of humanity in their hundreds of thousands is one of which there in abundant need and of which the utility is unquestioned. Among other things, the Society propose to open hospitals for male and female pilgrims separately to render medical relief which is so badly needed on the occasion. For this noble and humane work of serving their countrymen and country women, the Society is in urgent need of the voluntary services of trained nurses. About three dozen of such workers are coming from Bombay, but this number is very small for the enormous work to be done.
