Rajouri, February 17
Inhabitants of Panjgrain village in Manjakot tehsil of Rajouri district held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner office today.
They raised slogans against CA&PD officials alleging irregularities and discrimination in distribution of ration in their area.
Leading the protest, Mohammed Din and Bashir Ahmed said they had not been given proper supply of ration at the government-run fair price shops for the past three months.
They alleged the fair price shop was shifted to another place which either remained closed or the dealer supplied very less ration.
“The matter was taken up with CA&PD officials several times, but no concrete action had been taken till date. Hence, we were forced to organise a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner office,” Ahmed said.
Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Abdul Majid said proper ration would be provided to Panjgrain inhabitants soon. “As far as complaint against the dealer is concerned, an action under law will be taken against him if found guilty,” he added.
