Newburgh (USA), May 2

Indian-American golfer Bhavik Patel had a disastrous final round, shooting a four-over 76 to finish tied 18th, a massive drop from the three-shot lead he had at the halfway stage in the United Leasing and Finance Championship on the Web.com Tour here.

Patel, who set a 36-hole record with rounds of 65 and 69, collapsed over the weekend with rounds of 74 and 76 and finished at four-under 284 after being 10-under at the midway mark.

Patel had two double-bogeys on each of the last two days as he threw away a chance to claim his maiden Web.Com Tour title.

Seamus Power (5-under 67) posted the only bogey-free round of the day to become the first ever Irish winner on the Web.com Tour. Power came from behind to squeeze out a one-shot victory over Cody Gribble. — PTI
