New Delhi, October 7

Indian women cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol have dedicated a special rap song for Harmanpreet Kaur, who recently made her 100th T20Ith appearance. On Sunday, Jemimah uploaded a small video on her Twitter page in which she, alongside Deol, can be seen singing a rap song for their T20I skipper.

“Congratulations on your 100th T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Here’s a small tribute for you from Big Harry ft. Lil’ J#HarmanpreetThor,” she tweeted.

The T20I skipper Harmanpreet liked the video and thanked her teammates for the special gesture. “Thank you little ones. It is a pleasure to have you all do this for me,” Harmanpreet replied as she re-tweeted the video.

Last Friday, Harmanpreet became the first Indian cricketer -- man or woman -- to play 100 T20Is. The 30-year-old was presented with a special cap in Surat ahead of the sixth and final T20I against South Africa, which India lost by 105 runs

India maintain 2nd spot in ODI rankings

Dubai: India not only maintained their second position but also increased the points lead over third-placed England in the latest ICC women’s ODI rankings. The Indian women’s team, led by Mithali Raj, has 125 points, widening the gap over England (122) from one to three points.

In the T20I rankings, India are placed at the fifth position. Australia’s consistent performances have ensured their tight grip on the top spots in both the rankings, introduced in October last year.

Australia, who won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies last year, have increased their lead over England from 10 to 14 points in the T20I rankings. Among other teams, Thailand have moved to within four points of 10th placed Ireland after a remarkable run saw them win a world record 17 consecutive matches earlier this year, breaking the previous record of 16 successive wins by Australia. — Agencies
