Ajay Jayaram emerged as the lone Indian survivor at the Korea Open after notching up a convincing win over China's Huang Yuxiang to advance to the quarterfinals of the Super Series event here today.

The ninth seed won 21-15 21-18 in a 40-minute battle.

B Sai Praneeth suffered a 9-21 15-21 loss to sixth-seeded Korean Son Wan Ho.

"Quite happy with the way I played today. Was moving well and did well to mix my attack. A slightly nervous finish but delighted to pull through in the end," Ajay said. Ajay will take on Korea's Lee Hyun Il tomorrow. "A difficult opponent to play against, but I'm feeling good and looking to keep up the momentum," he added. — PTI
