Manchester United’s top-four aspirations suffered a setback as Louis van Gaal’s side were blown away 3-0 by clinical Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
First-half goals from James McCarthy and John Stones put hosts Everton in control at Goodison Park and substitute Kevin Mirallas sealed victory late on to push Everton into the top half of the table for the first time this season. Fourth-placed United enjoyed 65 percent of possession but lacked any real cutting edge with striker Radamel Falcao’s frustration complete when he had a well-taken consolation goal disallowed for offside.
Arsenal missed the chance to halt Chelsea’s march towards the title with a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to the runaway leaders. In a London derby with few clear chances, Chelsea produced

Bayern secure title with four games to spare
Berlin: Treble-chasing Bayern Munich claimed a third straight Bundesliga title on Sunday without kicking a ball after VfL Wolfsburg’s 1-0 defeat at Borussia Moenchengladbach meant they had an unassailable 15-point lead with four games left. Bayern, who have now won a total of 25 German league titles including one before the Bundesliga’s creation in 1963, beat Hertha Berlin 1-0 on Saturday but had to put the champagne on ice until after second-placed Wolfsburg’s game on Sunday.
Torino beat Juventus for first time in 20 years
Milan: Torino came from behind to beat Serie A leaders Juventus 2-1 in a pulsating derby and prevail over their more glamorous neighbours for the first time in 20 years. Juventus, beaten for only the third time in the league this season, still look certain to wrap up a fourth successive title especially after second-placed Lazio were held 1-1 at home by lowly Chievo, leaving them 14 points adrift with six matches left.
