Indian archers to shoot for gold

Chandigarh: The Indian women’s compound archery team of Divya Dhayal, Muskan Kirar and Jyothi Surekha Vennam has qualified for the gold medal match at the second state of the Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey.

The Indian women’s compound archery team of Divya Dhayal, Muskan Kirar and Jyothi Surekha Vennam has qualified for the gold medal match at the second state of the Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey.

Divya, Muskan and Jyothi face the team from Chinese Taipei in the final on Friday, and have the opportunity to bring home India’s first title on the circuit of this season.

“We are very happy because we have performed very well and reached the finals. As a team our scores are really good,” said Jyothi. 

The Indian girls posted individual totals of 227, 234 and 233 points, out of a possible 240, in the elimination phases. They closed with a dominant performance over hosts Turkey in the semifinals.

The Indian women's recurve team will take on Chinese Taipei for a bronze. — TNS
