Haryana thrashed Tripura by 119 runs here today and qualified for the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals for the first time since 2011-12. Resuming on 186/4, Haryana declared their second innings at 261/9, setting a 315-run target for Tripura. 

Tripura, in reply, put up another sloppy batting display to be bundled out for 195 and lose the match with a day to spare. 

Harshal Patel (2/33) rocked the top-order by picking up two wickets in his first two overs. The other pacers also made significant contributions with skipper Mohit Sharma returning figures of 2/50, Joginder Sharma 2/24 and Sanjay Pahal 3/47.

Punjab sniff victory 

Rajkot: Punjab enforced the follow-on after bowling out Mumbai for 185 to keep the team in line for an outright victory here today. After scoring 468 in their first innings, Punjab bowled out Mumbai for 185 in 60.3 overs, with speedster Manpreet Gony picking up four wickets. 

In their second innings, Mumbai were 94/2 at the draw of stumps on the third day, still trailing by 189 runs. — Agencies
