Good Nadal refuses to play with bad Kyrgios

MELBOURNE: Former world No.1 Rafael Nadal has reportedly refused to play with controversial Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios in a doubles match at John McEnroe''s charity event.

Former world No. 1 Rafael Nadal has reportedly refused to play with controversial Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios in a doubles match at John McEnroe's charity event. Nadal instead played a singles match against Lleyton Hewitt of Australia.

According to reports, Nadal refused to play with the Australian for the latter had made some vicious and insulting remarks about Stan Wawrinka’s girlfriend during their recent Rogers Cup match in Montreal.

Almost everyone in the tennis world has blasted Kyrgios for making those nasty comments. Nadal has apparently gone a step forward by refusing to play with him. McEnroe, who was himself was no saint during his playing days, said that Kyrgios should look upon Nadal as the standard for behaviour in the sport. Earlier, Kyrgios was handed a suspended ban and a fine by the ATP Tour for his remark.
