Colombo, July 17

Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun made his much-anticipated international debut against Sri Lanka’s U-19 side here today. The left-arm pacer picked up a wicket in his first two overs as India’s U-19 team dominated the proceedings on the opening day of the first Youth Test. Tendulkar picked his maiden wicket by trapping Lankan opener Kamil Mishara LBW with an in-swinger. He, however, could not strike again and finished with 1/33 in 11 overs. Following the early breakthrough, the Indian side rode on four-wicket hauls from Harsh Tyagi and Ayush Badoni to wrap up Lanka’s innings for 244. At stumps, India U-19 were comfortably placed at 92/1. — PTI
