Family members and relatives of the youngster who died last night gheraoed the Malout City police station here today. Terming the death as murder, they were demanding action against the “killers”.

Paramjit Singh, a worker at a private laboratory on tehsil road, was found injured near a fuel station on Malout-Lambi road here. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

“After shutting the laboratory, Paramjit went with his friend to a marriage party. He was thrashed there,” alleged Karnail Singh, father of the deceased. “The police are not taking any action,” he said.

Jasvir Singh, SHO, Malout City police station, said, “We are investigating the matter and the guilty will not be spared.”
