ROPAR: Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, president, SAD (Taksali), said though his party had not fielded any candidate from Bathinda and Ferozepur, he would campaign there for the defeat of the Badal family. Referring to Bargari and Behbal Kalan firing incidents and pardon to Dera Sacha Sauda chief, the Khadoor Sahib MP claimed that Badal’s had committed a great sin and he along with other party leaders would go to Bathinda and Ferozepur to urge people not to vote for them. Sampla should support party candidate: Badal

Muktsar: Reacting to the BJP’s sitting MP from Hoshiarpur Vijay Sampla’s displeasure over denial of ticket to him, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Lambi here on Wednesday said Sampla should have come out among firsts in the support of party candidate. “The party made him (Sampla) an MP, a minister. If he didn’t get the ticket, still he should have come out in support of the party’s choice, say that I am here for your support,” said Badal. TNS

Sukhbir, Puri to file nomination on April 26

Ferozepur: SAD-BJP candidate from Ferozepur Sukhbir Singh Badal is set to file nomination papers on April 26. Charanjit Singh Brar, Officer on Special Duty, said before filing the papers, Sukhbir will seek blessings at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Besides, diplomat-turned-politician Hardeep Singh Puri will also file his nomination papers for the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat here on April 26. He is likely to arrive here on Thursday. OC

  • Among immovable assets, Dhillon declared flats and apartments in Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon and Spain

  • Famous Punjabi folksinger, Sadiq declared his total assets worth Rs 2 crore as he filed his nomination papers on Wednesday
  • Sadiq, who has sung many hit songs in his 

40-year-old career, has shown movable assets worth Rs 94.93 lakh

  • His assets include Rs 73.5 lakh in banks, Rs 3 lakh cash, two cars , jewellery worth Rs 2.9 lakh and immovable property of Rs 1.03 crore 
  • He does not own any agriculture land. Sadiq has declared two residential buildings and non-agriculture land in Ludhiana 
  • He has attended just primary school
