The Sadar police have registered a case against six persons for the murder of Nirmal Singh from Mehlan. The police had recovered the body of Nirmal Singh in September and initially registered a case under Sections 174 of the CrPC, but after investigations registered a murder case on Friday night.

“On the statement of Pargat Singh, brother of the deceased, we have registered a case against Jasvir Kaur, wife of the deceased, Jugan Chand, with whom Jasvir Kaur has illicit relations, Babanjit Kaur, Dhanwant Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Hakam Singh under Sections 302 and 120-B of the IPC,” said Rakesh Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO), Sadar police station.

The SHO said Pargat Singh alleged that his brother Nirmal Singh, who worked as a labourer, went missing on August 29. The police found his body on September 4 near a drain at Mehla village.

Initially they did not have any clue, but some days back they got to know that the wife of the deceased had illicit relations with Jugan Chand. She with the help of others murdered her husband. After investigations, the police registered a murder case last night.

“We have already conducted raids at various places. The accused will be arrested soon,” said the SHO.
