Most parts of Punjab and Haryana reeled under cold weather conditions with Karnal being the coldest place in the region at 2.4 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh witnessed its minimum at 5.6 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT department said on Wednesday.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala braved cold conditions at 3.6, 4.1 and 4.1 degrees Celsius respectively, up to two degrees below normal.

Pathankot, Halwara, Adampur, Gurdaspur, Bathinda and Faridkot recorded their respective lows at 5.6, 4.2, 3, 4.7, 3 and 3 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar, and Narnaul experienced cold weather conditions at 4.8, 3.7 and 3.5 degrees Celsius respectively, up to three degrees below normal.

Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded their lows at 4.8, 6.5 and 5.2 degrees Celsius respectively, up to two notches below normal. Fog was witnessed at several places, including Patiala, Ludhiana, Karnal and Amritsar, the official said. PTI
