The 27-year-old woman from Dasuya, who had gone to Madhya Pradesh to meet an IPS officer, has agreed to come back after the latter refused to meet her.
Ending a three-day drama, the woman finally relented after her family members reached Ujjain to bring her back. Though the woman claimed to have lost her way, the police said she got in the touch with Sachin Atulkar, currently posted as Ujjain SP, through a social networking site.
Incharge of the women police station, Ujjain, Rekha Verma said the woman was sent to the One-Stop Reform Home in Madhavnagar Hospital, from where she left for her hometown. Verma said the woman was studying in Chandigarh. The police had been trying to send her home for the past two days, but when she did not listen, they called her parents. She was not ready to go back without seeing the officer. The police said: “It seems that she is not stable. Her father is no more and she is staying with her mother.”
Hoshiarpur SSP J. Elanchezhian said: “The woman seems mentally unfit.” When contacted, the Ujjain SP said he was ready to meet anybody who needed help as it was his duty to serve the public, but he could not meet the woman.
