A 37-year-old Indian-origin truck driver has been arrested in the US on charges of murdering his wife and three other relatives in April. Gurpreet Singh, the Ohio truck driver, has been arrested in Connecticut. It is suspected to be a case of property dispute. He was arrested on Tuesday.

Singh had himself called the police on April 28 to say he found the four dead in a West Chester apartment where he lived.

The victims were later identified as Gurpreet’s wife Shalinderjit Kaur (39); his in-laws Parmjit Kaur (62) and Hakiakat Singh Pannag (59) and Shalinderjit’s aunt Amarjit Kaur (58). All four died of gunshot wounds.

Singh told the police that he and Shalinderjit Kaur had been married for 17 years and had three children.

Meanwhile, relatives and residents of Mahadian village took out a candlelight march in remembrance of the departed souls, who belonged to the village. Shalinderjit’s uncle Harbans Singh said she got married to Gurpreet of Manupur Goslan near Khanna and were settled in Ohio. They didn’t have good relations as Gurpreet Singh was an addict and had illicit relations. Shalinderjit’s parents had also gone there to sort the issue. He alleged that Gurpreet wanted to grab his wife’s 45 acres.
