Special trains to ply ahead of festivals

LUDHIANA: With most long-route trains, especially those bound for destinations in UP, Bihar and Maharashtra, running to capacity, the Railways has decided to run several special trains ahead of the festivals of Diwali and Chhath Pooja.

With most long-route trains, especially those bound for destinations in UP, Bihar and Maharashtra, running to capacity, the Railways has decided to run several special trains ahead of the festivals of Diwali and Chhath Pooja.

According to railway officials, Anand Vihar Terminus (AVT) New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra special biweekly express train will run from November 10. The train will leave AVT every Monday and Thursday at 11 pm and reach Katra at 2 pm the next day. On the return trip, the train will leave Katra every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:30 pm and reach AVT at 2:20 pm the next day.

The Delhi Jn-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Delhi Jn tri-weekly special express train will run till November 22. It will leave Delhi Junction every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday at 6:25 pm and arrive at Katra at 9:05 am the next day. The train will leave Katra every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm and reach Delhi Junction at 3 am the next day.

The Jabalpur-Attari biweekly express will ply till December 30. The Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa biweekly special express will run from November 5 to 11. The train will leave Saharsa every Monday and Friday at 10:35 pm and reach Amritsar at 11 am on the third day. It will leave Amritsar every Sunday and Thursday at 9:15 am and reach Saharsa at 8:30 pm the next day.

The Katihar-Jalandhar City-Katihar weekly special express will run up to November 11. It will leave Katihar every Thursday at 9 am and reach Jalandhar city at 6:30 pm the next day.
