Chandigarh, November 12

The SIT is open to call former CM Parkash Singh Badal for questioning at a venue of his choice instead of Amritsar.

Under Section 160 of the CrPC, a cop cannot summon a person above the age of 65 to a place far away from his residence. The SAD has said there is no issue as far as the venue is concerned.

IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap, SITmember, said the former CM had a fleet of vehicles given by the government and was already travelling to different places. “But we won’t insist on examining him in Amritsar. We are open to meet him wherever he desires,” he said.

Never met sect head: Actor

Actor Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to respond to the summons issued to him by the SIT, saying he had no role in the police firing incidents or apology to Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim. He said he had never met the sect head or hurt Sikh sentiments.
