Singla announces transfer policy for nearly 90,000 Punjab teachers

Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Tuesday announced the transfer policy for nearly 90,000 teachers.

The policy has been notified and uploaded on the Punjab education department.  Here's a link. 

The policy lists a two-year tenure for transferred teachers.

The transfer applications will be taken in multiple rounds and the process will end on July 31. No transfers would be done after that, said Singla.

In the policy, the schools have been divided into different zones. The first round of the transfers starts on Wednesday when teachers can submit objections to the zone in which they fall. The final zone list will be notified on July 2.

Teachers can apply online for transfers from July 4 to 11. These will be decided and the orders issued online on July 12.

From July 13, the next round to fill the seats left vacant after the transfers will be held. The detailed schedule of the transfers will be released online after 3 pm on Tuesday.

The policy has a provision for helping the teachers who have medical issues.
