Amritsar, September 20

The Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have taken cognisance of one of Sidhu Moosewala’s songs in which he has tried to equate a girl with Mata Bhag Kaur (Mai Bhago). Akal Takht’s officiating jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh urged the SGPC to initiate legal action against him for hurting Sikh sentiments.

SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal too criticised the singer for using objectionable lyrics. A spokesperson, Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, said a complaint would be submitted to the Amritsar police commissioner on Saturday and legal action would be taken. — TNS
