Sangrur, May 7

Reportedly lagging behind in their social media campaign, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sangrur candidate Parminder Dhindsa today organised a workshop for his senior party leaders and workers to teach them skills to use social media.

Many senior and elderly leaders are finding it difficult to use technology. Parminder Singh said, “Other parties are misusing social media against our party. We need to counter it. For this, all leaders and workers must have the required knowledge.”

Some senior leaders said they knew the pulse of the voters, but due to lack of knowledge about the use of social media, they were unable to counter rivals’ campaign.

“Our party is strong at the grass-roots level. But still we are not able to counter other parties’ allegations on social media. Today we have got tips on how to use social media,” said a senior SAD leader.

Vishavjeet Singh Littlu, a youth Akali Dal (YAD) leader, said almost all YAD leaders knew how to handle social media for electioneering.

He said, “Though we have been running campaigns on social media for Parminder Dhindsa, we need the support of our senior leaders.”
