Chandigarh, May 26

The SAD and BJP will hold a joint meeting of their core groups in Jalandhar on June 3 to evolve a strategy to make the Congress government deliver on its poll promises and ensure law and order in the state.

State BJP chief Vijay Sampla met SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal in this regard today. This is the first meeting of the two leaders after the alliance partners suffered a debacle in the Assembly elections.

They said the state government had failed to maintain law and order and there was a paralysis in governance, with all development works at a standstill. “The government is a mute spectator as Congress workers are running amok and unleashing a reign of terror in the state,” Sukhbir added.

Sampla said killings were happening every day and it appeared that “jungle raj” was prevailing in the state.

SAD MPs Prem Singh Chandumajra and Balwinder Singh Bhunder would attend the meeting.
