Rs 383 cr to be given for smart villages

CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh directed the Finance Department to immediately release Rs 383 crore for the state’s Smart Village Campaign (SVC), an official press release said here today.

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh directed the Finance Department to immediately release Rs 383 crore for the state’s Smart Village Campaign (SVC), an official press release said here today.

It may be recalled that the Council of Ministers had given the go-ahead to the project on January 29, paving the way for holistic development of the villages. The scheme is aimed at improving conditions in the rural areas by converging and supplementing the ongoing government schemes for building infrastructure and providing basic amenities.
