Rain lashed several places in Punjab and Haryana for the second day on Tuesday, even as the minimum temperatures hovered close to normal limits.

He said rain lashed several places, including Chandigarh, Ambala, Karnal, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Ropar.

The minimum temperatures dropped slightly since Monday, but continued to hover close to normal limits at many places.

Chandigarh registered a minimum temperature of 10.8 degrees Celsius, up two notches against normal limit.

Ambala (11.8 C), Hisar (9 C), Karnal (8.2 C), Rohtak (10.7 C), Narnaul (10 C) and Bhiwani (10.1 C) in Haryana registered close to normal minimum temperature.

In Punjab, the minimum temperature in Amritsar settled at 8.9 degrees Celsius, up four notches against normal limit.

Ludhiana (9.9 C), Patiala (9.6 C), Pathankot (8.8 C), Adampur (8.2 C), Halwara (10.7 C), Bathinda (9.8 C), Faridkot (9.5 C) and Gurdaspur (7.5 C) also registered minimum temperature, which settled close to normal limits. PTI
