PWD official declared PO in cheque bounce case

The Court of Judicial Magistrate Devnoor Singh has declared Baldev Singh, a junior engineer of the PWD, Ferozepur, as proclaimed offender in a cheque bounce case.

The orders came on a complaint by Jash Paul Sharma of Urban Estate, Chandigarh road, Ludhiana. The complainant alleged that the accused was known to him. He had taken friendly loan from him on various occasion. On September 9, 2016, he took Rs 1 lakh from him. The loan was given after withdrawing the amount from the bank.

To repay the amount, the accused issued a cheque of Rs 1 lakh in April 2017, with the assurance that the same would be encashed on its presentation. But the cheque was dishonoured due to insufficient balance in the account. The accused failed to make the payment. Despite the directions of the court, the accused also failed to appear. — OC
