PSPCL team attacked, three booked

SANGRUR: The police have registered a case against three residents of Roshanwala village for allegedly attacking a team of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) last evening.

The police have registered a case against three residents of Roshanwala village for allegedly attacking a team of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) last evening. The team had gone to the village to disconnect power supply of villagers who have not paid their electricity bills.

It was alleged that sub-division officer (SDO) Gharachon Dharmpal, Junior Engineer Raj Kumar along with other officials had started the process to disconnect power supply when the villagers attacked them.

“When we started the process to disconnect power supply, the villagers attacked us with stones, brooms and sticks. We saved our lives by running away from there,” said Dharmpal. On the complaint of the SDO, the police have registered a case against Sukhdev Ram, Gagandeep Singh and Mulakraj.
