Projects worth Rs11 cr launched in Sangrur

State PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Saturday said his department would extend all support to construct the approximate 2-km stretch of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor, which falls in the Indian territory. Singla attended various functions in the district and started construction of various development works of Rs 11.50 crore.

“Roads of the historic town of Sultanpur Lodhi will be upgraded by the PWD in a record time of 10 months. Nineteen roads have been identified for broadening and strengthening as per the survey of the departmental team and the input received from the local MLAs as well as public. An amount of Rs 90 crore will be spent in the first phase of the upgrade work,” said Singla while talking to the media.

Singla started the construction work of various roads, including from the Bhagat Singh chowk to post office, from post office to Banasar Bagh, post office to BSNL park to Chhota Chowk and Roxy road to Ranbir College through Partap Nagar, in the town.

“Apart from roads, we will construct community halls in Ambedkar Nagar and Sundar Basti at the cost of Rs 1.29 crore. Sangrur will get many more developmental projects,” said Singla.
