Pro-Khalistan slogans were raised in the political conference of the SAD (Amritsar) organised on the Bhai Mastan Singh Road here. A number of hoardings and flags with pro-Khalistan messages were also put up at the venue.
Addressing the gathering, Simranjit Singh Mann, party president, said: “Other parties do not want us to raise issues concerning the state. The sacrifice of 40 Muktas always gives us inspiration to fight injustice.”
He appreciated the step taken by the Centre on the Kartarpur corridor. He said the BJP’s defeat in the recent state elections was good for the minorities.
A large number of cops were deployed in and around the conference venue.
