President to visit holy town today

NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Punjab on Tuesday to attend celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak organised at Sultanpur Lodhi, according to a communique form Rahstrapati Bhawan.

President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Punjab on Tuesday to attend celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak organised at Sultanpur Lodhi, according to a communique form Rahstrapati Bhawan.

He will be visiting both the pandals i.e. of the state government as well as that of the SAD-SGPC.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited Sultanpur Lodhi on Saturday and paid obeisance at historic Ber Sahib Gurdwara befor heading off to Dera Baba Nanka to inaugurate the passenger terminal building of the Kartarpur corridor.

Guru Nanak had spent 14 years of his life at Sultanpur Lodhi. A large number of devotees visit the historical city every day.

Elaborate arrangements have been made with regard to the ongoing celebrations at Sultanpur Lodhi. — TNS
