Posing as FM aide, cop dupes villager

BATHINDA: A resident of Multania village has been duped of Rs 10 lakh by an ASI who claimed to be Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s OSD. The ASI took money from the gullible villager on the pretext of getting a government job for his son.

A resident of Multania village has been duped of Rs 10 lakh by an ASI who claimed to be Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s OSD. The ASI took money from the gullible villager on the pretext of getting a government job for his son.

In a complaint, Angrej Singh, a resident of Multania village, said he met the accused ASI, Baldev Singh, and his relative Makhan Singh at Raipur Makha village.

Baldev told Angrej Singh that he was an OSD of the FM and could help his son Lovedeep Singh get a government job. He took Rs 10 lakh from him. However, he refused to return the amount when Lovedeep did not get the promised job. The police have registered a case against the accused. — TNS
