Party president Sukhbir Badal announces new team of SAD district presidents

CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal announced the names of the SAD’s new district presidents as part of a rejig in his party set-up.

Former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday announced the names of the SAD’s new district presidents as part of a rejig in his party’s organisational set-up.

Former ministers Ajit Singh Kohar, Sikandar Singh Maluka and Surjit Singh Rakhra have been appointed presidents of Jalandhar (Rural), Bathinda (Rural) and Patiala (Rural) respectively, a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) release said.

Santa Singh Umaidpur has been made the president of Khanna, Darshan Singh Shivalik of Jagraon and former MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon of Ludhiana (Urban), it said.

The release said those who had been appointed district presidents are Veer Singh Lopoke (Amritsar-Rural), Gurpartap Singh Tikka (Amritsar-Urban), Virsa Singh Valtoha (Tarn Taran-Rural), Swaran Singh Chanarthal (Fatehgarh Sahib-Rural), Mantar Singh Brar (Faridkot-Rural), Satish Grover (Faridkot-Urban) and Avtar Singh Jeera (Ferozepur-Rural).

Besides, Surinder Singh Thekedar has been appointed president of Hoshiarpur (Rural), Gurmail Singh Mansa of Mansa (Rural), Prem Kumar Arora of Mansa (Urban), Kanwarjit Singh Rozy Barkandi of Muktsar (Rural), Tirth Singh Mahla of Moga (Rural), Bal Krishan Bali of Moga (Urban) and Ashok Aneja of Fazilka (Urban), it said.
