Ludhiana, April 23

Vivek Rajput of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimla Puri, Ludhiana, stood second (academic) in the PSEB Class XII exams with 97.55 per cent marks in the non-medical stream.

His mother Harshanpreet, a housewife, overwhelmed by her son’s success, says: “I had asked him to gift me a first-class result. I have pinned high hopes on my son. We live in a rented house but I believe my son will build a home for us.”

Vivek’s father Surinder Rajput is a man of humble means. He is a loan agent in a private company.

“Today all our problems have vanished. We are thankful to the Almighty for showering His blessings upon our son.”

Vivek, whose aim is to become a web developer, says he studied for only two to three hours while preparing for his exams.

His success mantra is simple — be regular in studies and keep calm.

“I have a keen interest in developing websites and for that I want to become a web developer. I have decided on engineering in computer science,” he says.

Vivek’s parents want the state government to help their brilliant son realise his dream, expecting some financial help.
