Depressed over not being selected in the kabaddi team, a 17-year-old girl allegedly consumed poison at her residence here on Saturday. Victim Navdeep Kaur of Kotli Road here was a student of Class XII at DAV Girls Senior Secondary School at Maur Road.

Victim’s father Rajinder Kumar said Navdeep was upset for the past one week. Kabaddi coach Amrit Pal Kaur claimed that Navdeep was selected. — TNS
