New Delhi, October 4

The Centre has asked the NIA to take over investigation into the case related to the recovery of huge arms, ammunition and communication hardware in Punjab.

As the consignment was suspected to have been delivered through drones from across the border, MHA officials said the decision was taken on Punjab’s request amid state police claim that it had busted a terror module of Khalistan Zindabad Force, backed by a group based in Pakistan and Germany.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a review meeting with chiefs of border guarding forces and other senior MHA officials and impressed upon them to provide better facilities and arms to personnel on the ground. — TNS
