Fatehgarh Sahib, November 18

Rural Development Officers and employees belonging to Patiala Division, consisting of eight districts, ended their pen-down strike today.

Earlier, Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa facilitated a truce between Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill and the officers of the department led by Jagwinderjit Singh Sandhu ADC(D).

Last Thursday, officers of the Rural Development Department had started the strike to protest the alleged use of unparliamentary language by the Deputy Commissioner against the department’s employees.

Sources said the meeting was held in a cordial manner and the misunderstanding between both the DC and the ADC (D) was cleared. Both officers assured each other that they would cooperate with each other and work together as a team for the welfare of people. — OC
