Members of religious jagran groups will face legal action in the district if they allow the use of any Bollywood or Punjabi song’s tune or dress up as Hindu deities. Various organisations and jagran groups have decided to take legal action against such activities. They have formed a special committee to monitor jagrans in the district.

“Many times jagrans take the shape of an orchestra dance because artistes forget the fact that they are in jagran and not a marriage. It happens only due to the use of tunes of commercial songs. If anyone wants to have religious jagran, there should be only religious songs with religious tunes,” said Surinder Kumar, a local resident. —TNS
