Gangster held in Bathinda

BATHINDA: The Bathinda police arrested notorious “B” category gangster Gurlal Singh, alias Lalli Sidana, from Lehra Dhurkot village on the Rampura-Maur road in the district on Thursday evening.

The Bathinda police arrested notorious “B” category gangster Gurlal Singh, alias Lalli Sidana, from Lehra Dhurkot village on the Rampura-Maur road in the district on Thursday evening.

Bathinda SSP Nanak Singh said: “The CIA Staff 2 incharge Tarjinder Singh got a secret tip-off that gangster Lalli Sidana was coming to Lehra Dhurkot village to meet his in-laws, acting on which the CIA team laid a trap and nabbed him.” The SSP said a 9mm country-made pistol along with 12 live rounds, one .32 bore revolver along with 32 live rounds, one country-made .32 bore pistol with six live rounds, one .12 bore gun with 22 live rounds, 16 live rounds of .315 bore and 22 live rounds of .455 bore pistol was recovered from him.

Lalli Sidana is facing criminal charges in six cases and has been declared a proclaimed offender in three of them. He also has a bailable warrant against him, which a court issued when he did not turn up for a hearing. Lalli Sidana is accused of murdering his cousin Amandeep Singh Amana, also a gangster, and attacking the witness in the case, Saudagar Singh.
