Five houses damaged in Abohar, survey ordered

ABOHAR: As thunderstorm hit the town and neighbouring villages for the second day, roofs and walls of at least five houses collapsed in different colonies here today, causing injuries to one person.

As thunderstorm hit the town and neighbouring villages for the second day, roofs and walls of at least five houses collapsed in different colonies here today, causing injuries to one person.

The house owned by Dinesh Kumar in Sant Nagar was badly damaged and the family is left roofless. Others who lost roofs of their houses today were Krishan Kumar in Subhash Nagar; Pankaj Kumar in Panjpeer Nagar and Arvind Sachdeva in Nanak Nagari. In Rajiv Nagar, Sandeep Kumar (20) was trapped under the debris as rain lashed the area at 5 am today. Neighbours rescued him and took him to hospital.

SDM Poonam Singh visited the hospital. She told tehsildar and naib tehsildar to conduct a survey of the loss and prepare a report. — OC
