Sangrur, May 19

Rebel SAD Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, who resigned from the party last year due to differences with Sukhbir Badal, today said his son and Sangrur SAD-BJP candidate Parminder Dhindsa is capable to fill the vacuum created by his “retirement”.

“My blessings are always with Parminder… He has won the Assembly elections five times and has enough experience,” said Sukhdev Dhindsa at Ubhawal village, where he came to cast his vote.

He said, “Earlier, I had asked Parminder to avoid contesting the poll due to some reasons. But when he decided to contest and the party gave him ticket, I wished him best of luck. I could not campaign because of health problems.”

After casting vote, Dhindsa took feedback from SAD workers. “The SAD-BJP would win the majority of seats. The BJP would form the next Central government,” he said.

Two days ago, SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal too showered praise on Parminder. He said, “Parminder has preferred the party over family and I have highest respect for him and he would rise to higher positions.”
