EC acted on merit, says Badal

Former CM Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said the EC had removed Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh from the SIT on merit. “Still if Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has sought the rollback of the decision, it is his call,” he said.

"The Election Commission did not remove the IG by acting blindly on our complaint, but it took the decision on merit. It is now up to the EC to take a final call on the matter," said Badal.

On some Sikh hardliners saying that they would show black flags to the SAD-BJP leaders, Badal said they were either Congress workers or instigated by them to show the Akalis in poor light in view of the Lok Sabha elections.
